Apple Store app now available for iPad

For whatever reason, Apple has neglected to launch a standalone Apple Store app for the iPad until today. It comes as a standalone download, separate from its iPhone counterpart, and takes advantage of the extra screen real estate (and resolution) provided by Apple’s tablets.

Those interested more in app design than buying the latest Apple goods might want to take a look as well. Apple has done an excellent job of contextualizing certain elements with the iPad in mind, from gestures to the way products are presented. There are plenty of big, high-res, zoomable pictures here as well.

The experience, however, should be familiar to anyone who has used the iPhone app or even Apple’s web version of their retail store. It’s an app built for an Apple product with express intent of selling more Apple products…what did you expect?
