The new Mac Pro, which Apple debuted at WWDC in June, finally has an official release date: tomorrow, December 19th. Pricing on the base model starts at $2999.
Completely redesigned around a unified thermal core, the cylindrical Pro is designed for true power users and will be available in CPU configurations ranging from 4-core to 12-core with speeds up to 3.9GHz. Combined with AMD FirePro GPUs, the new Mac Pro is said to achieve graphical performance eight times that of the previous generation.
The base model includes quad-core processing, 12GB RAM, and 256GB of PCIe-based flash storage. However, most specs will be full configurable at time of order.
