Looking for the ability to track your personal activity level without investing in a tracking peripheral? You’ll want to grab the latest update to the Fitbit iOS app. The latest version adds basic activity tracking with no additional investment up front.

The new tracking features take advantage of the M7 coprocessor found in the iPhone 5s (sorry, if you don’t have the latest Apple smartphone you’re out of luck) in a similar manner to the Nike+ Move app. Both offer a simplified version of the full experience offered in conjunction with peripherals from both companies.
