With the introduction of the iPhone 5c and iPhone 5s, Apple phased out the stalwart iPhone 4, which had become an appealing model in emerging markets due to its low price. Feeling pressure from the competition in India, Apple now appears set to relaunch the phone in India.

The 8GB iPhone 4 will be available for cheaper than ever with a price tag of Rs 15,000 (about $250) after last retailing for Rs 26,500. Apple, however, is unlikely to begin producing new stock after ceasing assembly of the device last summer. Instead, Cupertino will dig deep into its global inventory for unsold iPhone 4 handsets.

The iPhone 4 is not expected to return to shelves in other regions as Apple continues to push its standard lineup, which features the iPhone 4s on the low end as well as the iPhone 5c and iPhone 5s.
