A new streaming service is hear to woo music lovers. Beats Music from the very same Beats that brought us Beats by Dre is offering up their iOS app this morning along with a $10/month subscription service.
How, exactly, does Beats Music plan to combat established streaming juggernauts like Spotify, Pandora, Google Play Music, iTunes Radio, and others? Through music curation. The various playlists and stations Beats Music will give users access to are based on curation by a real human being. It’s not the first time a music streaming app has offered such a feature, but Beats is hoping they can do it well enough to lure subscribers away from other options.
Beats is currently offering a free 7-day trial for downloading the app. A 5-member family plan is available through AT&T for $14.99/month. Beats is also offering a free 90-day subscription for AT&T customers.
