If you have iOS 7 you likely know the scenario: you’re using your phone as normal when it suddenly jumps to a black screen. You press the standby button thinking maybe the phone just cycled the screen off. No response. Then the Apple logo appears and the phone reboots.
The issue occurs sporadically and a random reboot is about the extent of it — more an annoyance than anything else. The problem has persisted since Apple released iOS 7, but it will finally be addressed in the upcoming software update to iOS 7.1.
When will that be? An exact launch date for iOS 7.1 has not been revealed, but a fourth beta of the update just went live for Apple developer partners earlier this week. Most speculation points to at least one more beta round before a potential March release.
