Google Maps has always suggested multiple routes of travel when calculating navigation results, but now the app will actively try to get you to where you are going as fast as possible. In its latest update, Google Maps for iOS has gained the ability to seek out a faster route during navigation based on current traffic and road conditions. If a better route is found, the app will send out an alert allowing the user to get a jump on travel times.

The update also includes a number of undisclosed bug fixes that should continue to make for a faster, more stable app experience. The latest version of Google Maps for iOS can be downloaded now for free from iTunes or the App Store.
