Mac Pro shipping estimates slide to April for international customers

The new Mac Pro is seeing its shipping timeframe again slip as demand continues to exceed readily available stock of the powerful computing tower that went on sale in December. The Pro almost immediately saw delays, with shipments for customers around the globe pushed back to March last month. Now buyers in Europe and the UK, Australia, and China can expect to wait until April to see the $3000 machine ship.

The delay does not apply to US customers, yet, but it very well could in due time. While US estimates held firm for February for a few days after extended delays hit Europe, things eventually caught up. The good news is that the new timeframe does not greatly increase the amount of time a new buyer could have expected to wait. Shipment times still sit at roughly one month. The bad new, however, is that the wait has not decreased.

The new Mac Pro was introduced as a long-awaited update to the professional grade workstation from Apple. It can be configured with up to 12 cores of Intel Xenon processing power, features dual GPUs, support for up to 12GB of RAM, and the ability to run up to three 4K display simultaneously.
