Ladies and gentleman, let’s get ready to rumble. Today marks the launch of a tag-team partnership between Apple TV and the WWE Network. With it comes the promise of 24/7 access to your favorite wrestling shows, superstars, and other content.
Available now as a new app for Apple TV, WWE Network is a subscription-based platform priced at $59.99 per year (and billable to your iTunes account) that will provide unprecedented coverage of the WWE, including all 12 of its annual par-per-view events. The release marks the culmination of several weeks of build up that included an announcement at CES that saw WWE-branded Apple TVs handed out as party favors.
The WWE Network is the latest in an ever-expanding line of content for Apple TV, one that has seen exponential growth in recent months. Apple seems to be setting the platform up for a bit of a relaunch later this year when the company is expected to go live with new Apple TV hardware and services, including potential partnerships with cable and satellite providers.
The WWE Network is available now for Apple TV users in the US and Canada. There is no word on when the “network” will go live for Apple TV users in other parts of the world.
