Although Apple has definitely gone through some major growing pains when it comes to their initial implementation of Maps, it’s still a great tool to compliment your iPhone when you’re out and about.
Share a pin
One very quick and easy way to share any location in Maps is to drop a pin on a specific location on a map and then click the “share” button on your info menu in the upper right corner of the page. You now have several different options to share including Messages, Mail, Twitter, Facebook or even AirDrop.
Flyover view
To get a unique “Flyover view of city skylines and major landmarks make sure you are viewing your map in satellite view and then just tap the 3D icon. While in Flyover view you can rotate around the screen, pan all around and zoom in for a closer look.
Drop a pin for a Quick Route
Whenever there is a pin displayed on your map screen, whether it was manually dropped by you, or marking an address that you just searched for, you can get turn-by-turn directions to that location by tapping on the Quick Route button indicating the driving time to said location.
Tilt and rotate your view
You can easily pan around and rotate your view with two fingers to tilt or rotate the map to present whatever view suits you best.
