Purported iPhone 6 photos surface

New photos purported to be of the iPhone 6 have surfaced today resembling, more-or-less, the design and size we have come to accept from other leaked photos and mock-ups.  Todays’s photos come from a Taiwanese race car driver Jimmy Lin.  Apparently Lin has a reputation for delivery pre-release photos and mock-ups in the past that have been fairly accurate. This device most likely not an actual production unit, and there is no way to confirm any dimensions.

We have no evidence that the device even powers up and the area where the flash should be is yellow in color–not typical.  The pictures appears to compare the “iPhone 6” with an iPhone 5S (top) and an iPhone 5 (bottom).

Those antenna lines on the back are pretty ugly and makes it look too similar to the HTC One M8. Hopefully they won’t make it into the final design.

However, it’s nice to see a larger iPhone coming out (if these leaks are to be believed). I was in the Apple store in Chicago a few weeks ago comparing the 5S to my Moto X, and the 5S just seemed too skinny. The Moto X just feels better in hand and is still able to be operated one-handed, despite its larger form factor.

If the iPhone 6 is larger, I can see a lot of casual Android users jumping ship.

Yeah, I agree on the antenna lines and the fact that a larger screen iPhone will have a big impact on sales and luring some Android users–especially with all the changes coming in iOS 8.

No doubt. I’ve been a diehard Android evangelist since it rolled out, but I’ve always been jealous of the iPhone’s look and feel (smaller screen aside). With the way that Apple is opening up the iOS platform to bring in some of the best features of Android (widgets, extensions, etc.), and the fact that I now have a rMBP, I’m actually open to trying an iPhone (although I’ll get a LOT of flak from my friends!).

LOL, good luck! You know they’re all secret Apple fans anyway 🙂
