Email client Mailbox now available in Mac OS public beta

Mailbox-for-Mac-beta

The popular email app client Mailbox began rolling out their public beta for Mac OS this week, joining the mobile versions already available to iOS and Android users.  We have been waiting for the Mac version to come out since it was demoed last April at the Dropbox Keynote presentation.

In order to be eligible to download and use the beta, you first need to sign-up.  Once that happens, you will eventually be notified by the Mailbox team when it is time for you to receive your single-user license, otherwise know as a “betacoin.”  The beta roll-out will be gradual, just like the original mobile version of the app, so it might take a few weeks for you to receive your betacoin.

Mailbox for Mac introduces some really awesome new features

  • snoozing an email from your mobile device to your desktop
  • swiping from your trackpad
  • hotkeys
  • support for drafts

We’re glad to see the Mailbox app finally adding support for drafts on both the desktop beta version and in iOS.  Drafts are saved locally to the device you’re on and automatically synced across devices when you’re signed in with your Dropbox.

Are you a Mailbox mobile app user?  Are you looking forward to using the desktop version as well.  Let us know in the comments section below–we’d love to hear from you.
