How to monitor iOS 8 battery usage

One of my favorite new features in iOS 8 is the ability to track how much battery life individual apps are using.  This one is a no-brainer, and should have happened years ago. But hey, we’ve got it now, so let’s look at how you can access your iOS usage data, and what it tells you about how you are using your phone–shall we?

First, go to Settings–>General–>Usage–>Battery Usage. Here you will find s handful of usage stats.  At the top of the screen you can see how much you have used your iPhone since your last full charge, in addition to the amount of standby time your phone has been idle, waiting for you to use it.

The newest addition to this area is the battery tacking info recently added in iOS 8.  Now you can track individual battery proportion of usage by each app when your iPhone is not charging.  This info is displayed for both the last 24 hours and the average usage since you activated your device or reset your settings.
