Earlier today jailbrake enthusiasts running OS X received an unexpectant treat–a Mac version of the popular tool Pangu designed tool for iOS 8.0-8.1.  Two weeks ago, Pangu released an iOS 8 jailbrake, but it was for Windows only machines, and it was entirely in Chinese.  Fast forward to today–Mac users can now update to the same jailbrake.  This all is happening just ahead of the anticipated release of iOS 8.1.1–the beta of which is now in the hands of developers.

It is thought that one of the the main reasons for Apple to release 8.1.1 is to patch the very exploit the Pangu team used to jailbrake iOS 8.  In other words–if you, are in any way thinking of jailbraking your iPhone you need to update your device to iOS 8.1 ASAP, and stay away from 8.1.1 when it comes out in the next week or so.
