AirDrop has always been a handy feature that many Mac users have taken advantage of way before OS X Yosemite came along. However, now, along with integration in iOS 8, you’ll love using AirDrop even more–here’s why.
Use AirDrop to automatic download files between devices
If you have two devices that are using the same Apple ID you can use AirDrop to automatically send files between devices. When initiated, the transferred file is downloaded to the receiving device.
Receive files anytime in AirDrop
In your AirDrop settings you can choose to make your device always visible to people in your contacts–even if you don’t have AirDrop selected in your Finder. All files sent to you will now appear in your Notification Center. Once you receive a notification that a file has been sent t you, you will be able to click on it to download the file.
Use AirDrop to share with an iOS device
Finally, you can now use AirDrop between your Mac running Yosemite, and your iPhone running iOS 8. Now not only can you share files with other Macs, but also to a nearby iPhone.
