Appigo’s ToDo was updated a couple of days ago and I think it’s good enough to switch back to. I’ve been using Remember the Milk (RTM) because I thought it was faster and I was all caught up in the coolness of having landscape support. But here’s the thing: how often do I really need landscape task support?
I ‘ll throw up the change list here and talk about why I ‘m moving back after the jump.

First and foremost, the major reason (after seeing all these new features) for my switching back to ToDo is the way it handles new tasks. RTM ‘s ‘new task ‘ button will open up a dialogue where I have to tap another button just to name my task. ToDo will do this automatically. Creating a quick task or a new task will open the naming field immediately, saving me that extra tap every time.
ToDo seems to have its priorities straight, and that in turn should help me prioritize better. The thing I love about this update is that it focuses on bringing new features to the table, while also focusing on making the app tighter overall. If you don ‘t want to make a whole folder for a shopping list you can just make a single task and then turn it into a checklist “ very smart. Should you have something more complicated on your plate, you can even turn the simple checklist into a full-fledged project list with due dates for the sub-items. I don ‘t like thinking about anything more complicated than Pop Tarts, so I ‘m likely going to stick with the checklist for now.
The rest of the new improvements I love all have to do with usability. The full calendar for due date selection really helps speed things up, since it means it saves me from fiddling with that silly rolling wheel selector to get to the right day. Tasks are also much easier to see at a glance thanks to the changes to the due/overdue indicators and the minimalist approach to tasks with no due dates. Appigo has tried to cram as much information as I could possibly need onto the screen without making me feel claustrophobic.
Last but not least for me is the change to the synchronizing. They claim increased reliability on network connections, but I haven ‘t had enough time to really notice a different yet. What I have noticed, however, is the ability to keep tasks if I switch from RTM to Toodledo (or vice versa). This will be great for me if I ever decide that [Remember] the Milk has gone sour and I just want to switch to free Toodledo syncing. Re-entering all of your tasks isn ‘t fun, and I ‘m glad ToDo has my back on this one.
I ‘ve noticed that Appigo seems to update its apps pretty often. ToDo and Notebook have both seen some pretty major changes over the last few months, and I ‘m really loving the extensive support. Kudos!
