Say Happy Mother’s Day with Animoto & Your iPhone

Animoto is a clever app that lets you create ‘videos ‘ (really they are well-crafted slideshows) very quickly and easily on your iPhone or via a desktop browser.

I ‘ve been using the iPhone app for quite a while now.  It ‘s superb for sharing some of my daughter ‘s big days with family “ in just a few minutes I can select photos and a soundtrack song, have the video rendered, and share it via email.

Today I got a promo email from Animoto showing off how it could be used to help say Happy Mother ‘s Day to any or all of the moms in your life this weekend.  I like this idea “ mostly because I ‘ve seen the reactions of the two main moms in my life “ my wife and my mother-in-law “ when sharing Animoto shows in the past “ so I know they bring a lot of smiles and happiness.

I ‘m not suggesting that just firing off an Animoto show will get you off the hook for cards, chocolates and other traditional gifts “ but it could be a heck of a nice little bonus gift if you ‘ve got some good family photos to share from your iPhone or desktop.

Animoto has a nice Mother ‘s Day demo video up HERE.  I haven ‘t used the desktop / browser app very much, so I ‘m not even sure how you go about adding text to your slideshow “ but like I said, I know that the iPhone versions without text go down a treat as well.

In fact, I just sent one of to my wife a little while ago “ with some great pics from a recent festival event at my daughter ‘s school, and it made her day.  So any day is a good day for Animoto sharing in my book.

Anyone else have any iPhone-related Mother ‘s Day ideas? (apart from buying mom an iPhone) I ‘d love to hear them.

You can find Animoto in the App Store “ and it ‘s a free app
