Thank you Twitter “ again.  For at least the third time this week, I ‘ve discovered something new and interesting via a new Twitter follower “ in this case, David Scott Leibowitz.  He ‘s on Twitter as ‘@iphoneart ‘ “ and he ‘s got a Flickr set called iPhone Art.

The set is described as: ‘Taking a photo with the iPhone, and using available iPhone apps, creating Digital Art on the go. ‘  It shows off a broad range of different effects that can be achieved with iPhone image manipulation apps.

Judging by his recent Twitter stream, it seems David offers up  daily iPhone Art image to his Twitter followers (via twitpics) as well.  Here is yesterday ‘s example:

I ‘m not sure whether David would approve of this usage (I hope so), but quite a few of his images in the Flickr set could make very striking iPhone wallpapers as well “ for instance the image used at the top of this post, which is called ‘Talent on Blue ‘.

I think it ‘s fun seeing how more and more art is being created entirely on the iPhone.  Just a few recent examples that spring to mind – iPhone bands, music created with apps like Ocarina and Leaf Trombone, amazing drawings created with the Brushes app, and illustrious artists like David Hockney jumping into using the iPhone as a tool for creating art.

The iPhone Art  Flickr set is another good example of this “ utilizing the iPhone camera as well as other tools to generate interesting images.  Give it a look HERE if you get a chance.
