I came across this fun free app over the weekend. It ‘s called Sysadmins and it ‘s a comic book that features those classic uber-geeks “ sysadmins – as its heroes. Here ‘s some more background from its App Store description:

"When Sysadmins Ruled the Earth", a comic written by J.C. Vaughn, drawn by Daniel Warner, based on a short story by Cory Doctorow ("Boing Boing", "Little Brother").
Originally published as the Creative Commons comic "Cory Doctorow ‘s Futuristic Tales of the Here and Now" by IDW Publishing, "When Sysadmins Ruled the Earth" is remixed by Robot Comics to create a version specifically designed for mobile devices.
I ‘m not usually a fan of comic books, but I ‘ve read a little of Cory Doctorow ‘s stuff in the past and enjoyed it, and have also worked for years in tech support and network management (though never working primarily with UNIX boxes, which strikes me as the role of a typical sysadmin) “ so I wanted to give this one a look
I ended up enjoying it a lot. It ‘s got a good storyline and features some very dramatic illustrations.
As well as some nice techie sort of humor. I especially like this little sequence
The controls are easy, as you ‘d expect “ just swipe in the bottom corners to move forward or back through its pages, double-tap to zoom, and so on.
It ‘s around a 95 screen comic, and a good read. I haven ‘t seen any mention in its App Store page of any planned updates or sequels to this story, but I ‘d like to see some more come along.
