You know all those “Unavailable” and “Out of Area” responses you get with your Calling Name service that you're paying $95.40 – $143.40 /yr for?” I do, but it is nearly never used – and we have never felt the need for any Calling Name service, ever.

So I'm not really sure where all your comparisons etc. are coming from – including the bit about sticking with the free app for whatever it was. As I stated in the post, I don't get bothered by any sort of nuisance calls to need any app at all for this purpose, and certainly not a $45 annual subscription for it.

Thanks for the info though …

You can't do this real-time on iPhone like you can on Blackberry or Windows Mobile.

Do you still have a home phone? You know all those “Unavailable” and “Out of Area” responses you get with your Calling Name service that you're paying $95.40 – $143.40 /yr for? This application will actually get you a name back.

It goes beyond what the free and or cheaper apps would do and returns what's actually in the telecom databases. You're paying for a premium service so you get premium data. Not Whitepages stuff that's 3 years out of date. Not “Out of Area” stuff that your home phone local company chooses not to provide to you because they're cheapskates.

If you want the out-of-date stuff and don't care about getting a response on 90% of the numbers, go with the free app. But, if you actually want real quality responses for MUCH less than what your home phone service costs, and more access to more data, then this is the app for you.
