Thanks to a post from Zee over at Friendfeed, I ‘ve been tremendously unproductive so far today “ and I am very grateful to Zee for it, because I ‘ve been discovering, enjoying, and learning more about the superb Apps & Hats iPhone app reviews site.
Apps & Hats is described as a ‘quirky iPhone application review show ‘. It definitely lives up to that description, but there ‘s lots more to it than that. I ‘ve been watching several of their 6 minutes (or so) episodes today and enjoying them thoroughly.
Here ‘s a slice of the Apps & Hats About page that gives a little more background on the site and their video reviews approach:
Every other week the girls (Christine and Hattie) will review iPhone applications within a wide range of categories. You can also vote on the site (once their reviews have been posted), for which application you think is better.
The 6 minute sessions will be aired every 2 weeks. Each episode will have a particular item of fashion from Victorian Corsets to Uniforms. The girls will each choose an application within the same category and then review what is good about the app, bad about it, and what could be improved. Also, is the application value for money and worth both your cash and an elusive place on your device with its limit of 148 apps.
The videos feature ‘The Girls ‘ “ who are Christine, an ex-pat Canadian living in the UK who is a college lecturer in Digital Communications and Interactivity, and Hattie, who ‘s ‘an ex fashion student gone awry ‘. The two seem to have a great rapport, and to have a lot of fun while filming their shows- and are just charming and easy to watch. Way too easy! 🙂
Although their reviews are not the most in-depth you ‘ll find around, their quirkiness and charm more than make up for it “ they ‘re just plain fun to watch.
I also just love their site name “ who could argue with Apps & Hats “ though I also would not object to it changing to Apps, Hats & Dogs “ as I really enjoyed the handsome dalmatian who made an appearance in their latest episode.
In fact, that is my only small complaint in my viewing so far “ I would like to see even more hats and more dalmations (or any other dogs).
Anyway, I won ‘t ramble on any more here, because if you ‘re anything like me you ‘re about to have a lot of (enjoyable) downtime once you go HERE to check out the Apps & Hats site
