I ‘m a big soccer (football!) fan “ and I will definitely be watching the Champions League final on Wednesday and rooting for Man United big time. I always support England and English clubs, even though I must admit Barcelona play some beautiful football.
As the season reaches its climax, there are a few new iPhone apps aiming to cash in on footie fans ‘ excitement. One of them that caught my eye the other day is Man United Anthems 1 “ which offers ‘the heart of the terraces in yer pocket ‘. It ‘s a collection of real chants by real fans with a focus on quite a few Man United favorites, including the charming ‘This is How It Feels To Be City ‘ in anti-tribute to their local rivals.
This all sounds pretty ok. Football songs are often good fun (though some are way, way out of order) and certainly capture some of the pure passion of the game.
So why the goofy post title you might ask. Well, the app ‘s price tag strikes me as way off for what is bound to be a novelty app, that might only ever get used once “ at least that would be my likely usage of it. It ‘s a $7.99 app “ which is just far too much for any novelty app in my view.
