TUAW is reporting that their readers’ iPhone 3G S shipments are being held by UPS. Some of the reports TUAW is receiving include screenshots or emails detailing tracking information, all showing a delivery hold. The original information indicated that the arrival date would be Thursday June 18th, one day before the official launch date of the iPhone 3G S.
Apple has pulled this stunt before. The last time I remeber this happening was the launch of Mac OS X Leopard. Some customers were recieving Leopard ahead of schedule so Apple held everyone’s delivery until launch day.
