I ‘ve been finding the implementation of push notifications in the AP Mobile news app a little odd so far “ in that alerts are very infrequent. Now that ‘s not necessarily a bad thing, but given that I ‘ve selected to see quite a few things on my front page “ from local news to general top stories, world headlines, sports and technology headlines etc “ I ‘ve just been very surprised to see only one alert per day from AP Mobile thus far.
Until today, I ‘d seen one alert on a breaking headline somewhere around 9-9:30am US Central time, and then nothing until the following day. Now I have just seen my second alert of the day for today, and that makes it my first ‘multiple alert ‘ day for AP Mobile. It was a useful alert too “ letting me know the winner of golf ‘s US Open.
I had expected that I ‘d be overrun with alerts from an app like AP Mobile. I ‘d even been looking around for settings within the app to control the level of alerts received, and have not yet found one. I wonder if AP Mobile will now steadily ramp up the level of alerts. If so, I really hope they ‘ll provide good options for controlling these “ otherwise, I can see myself turning them off fairly soon.
How are you all finding apps ‘ usage of push notifications so far?
