Apple today announced that they have sold over 1 Million iPhone 3GS models this past launch weekend. Today’s press release even has a quote from Steve Jobs:
“Customers are voting and the iPhone is winning,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “With over 50,000 applications available from Apple’s revolutionary App Store, iPhone momentum is stronger than ever.”
Steve Jobs CEO of Apple has been on sick-leave since January and is due back at the end of this month. This is the first time he has been publicly quoted since taking leave.
If you remember the same number of iPhones were sold last year at the iPhone 3G launch. Along with that amazing sales figures comes the astonishing fact that six million Apple customers have downloaded the new 3.0 software that runs on all pre-exsisting iPhones and iPod Touches (all 40 million of them).
