Animoto Videos “ one of my favorite iPhone apps “ has just had its first major update, to Version 2.0. For those who haven ‘t tried this app yet, it ‘s a great way to create slide shows from your iPhone photos, apply a soundtrack to them, and share them with friends and family very, very quickly and easily.
Here are some of the notable features and additions of the Animoto 2.0 update:
- Sync with Animoto.com account
- Make longer videos (above 30 seconds) “ ** This also requires an ‘all-access pass ‘ for $30/year
- Save videos to your iPhone for viewing offline
- Better image timing / fitting in video
- Tons more songs in the library
This looks like a good update for a very good app. I especially like the expanded library of songs. When I first saw this update it got me thinking and wondering how much I ‘ll use Animoto now that I have an iPhone 3GS and its video recording capability. I think I ‘ll use Animoto a bit less, but at least for now I think I ‘ll still find it very useful.
The main reason I ‘ll keep using it is that it makes putting a slide show to music a matter of just a few taps. Sharing a video from the iPhone “ to YouTube or via another method “ is also quite easy, but adding a soundtrack (at least for novices like me) is not so easy. Animoto has been my go-to option for almost instantly sharing lots of my daughter ‘s recent big moments (dance classes, kindergarten graduation etc.) with her grandparents “ and it will continue to be a strong option alongside video recording.
For those who are using an iPhone V1 or 3G, Animoto is also an excellent option.
You can find Animoto Videos in the App Store HERE, and it ‘s a free app.
