I had almost completely forgotten about the archive feature in gmail, but the addition of an easier way to quickly clear my inbox in mobile Safari might just make me a born-again archivist. Ever since Patrick notified me of the feature (via jkontherun) I’ve been using it to clean up the mess that is my inbox. I might even try to get the count to zero! What a concept!
It’s also interesting how Google is taking a page out of the iPhone here, since the archiving action mimicks the slide to delete on Apple iPhone apps. I can’t believe how powerful HTML5 has become! Google Gears on a mobile platform and now swipe support? Well, actually, the swipe support is apparently only on the iPhone at the moment. Anybody else have an Android or Pre to confirm this? 😛
