Apple has released a software update for Apple TV making this version 2.4. This update ads several features, the biggest being, Remote app directional control (used with iPhone Remote App), Flickr Search, and new view options.
As for the Remote app (iTunes Link), it has a new feature that offers touch screen gesture support for controlling your Apple TV.
This new feature adds flick gestures allowing you to navigate menus, and control audio and video playback.
