Seeing as the unlock is useless to me in US since I can't get 3G anywhere except AT&T, I've only one use for the jailbreak. And that is the new version of Stacks coming out (already out?). In addition to having a stack of quick-access apps right on the dock available on every home screen, the new version also allows to have stacks on the home screen itself (like Categories) so I can have some semblance of order for all my apps. It seems like a natural, native fit and definitely one of those last "why didn't Apple…" things.

Gimme all that without a Jailbreak and I'll stop doing it. Hell, I might be able to live with just SBSettings, Five Icon Dock, and Backgrounder.

I guess there is still theming – which I know you and I both miss – and live video streaming, and background apps, and assorted other things not allowed by Apple. I have to admit though, none of it is enough to turn my head just at the moment.

I was wondering … what really is the benefit to jailbreaking the 3GS anymore? Before I understood it because there were so many shortcomings in the App Store, but really with Push, video recording, etc – is there really any benefit?
