I haven't done any testing at all – but so far I'd agree on the battery life points, though I haven't found it quite as bad as you and Brandon are seeing – then again I'm happy leaving 3G and Location Services off most of the time. I'm tempted by the InCase case with battery extender included.

Overall I am very pleased and haven't had any problems, hangups, freezes, dropped calls, etc.. It runs great. Aps run great. It is fast. However, like brandonsteili's post, the battery SUCKS! At first I thought something was amiss. The batter life on the 3G was pretty darn good. Then Apple claimed that the new battery life in the GS was going to be better. It isn't. I probably get half the time I got on the old phone. It is such a shame that while the iTouch and iPhone are so good overall, Apple fails over and over and over when it comes to the batteries they put in their devices. I highly recommend carrying a spare power supply, or plug in the Richard Solo thing I've seen in magazine ad's. Especially if you want to use it heavy all day long.

Don't even get me started on battery life… 55% by 1pm and I took it off the charger around 8am. The 3GS battery right now is nothing short of horrible. I've actually (for the first time) really considered getting a Juice Pack Air because if you use the 3GS for anything more than some light browsing and twitter throughout the day you're scraping by with 10-20% by bed time. No sense in having games with you to kill some time during the day because if you do play the phone's dead long before bed time…

Wow, I haven't seen any of that on my old 3G 9that the wife is using now) or even on my V1 that my daughter uses. I have heard quite a few people complaining about battery life on 3.0, but hadn't seen much on these issues before now.

From my experience with it (the betas were good) but 3.0 was just complete garbage. It wasn't just me that's seen it either. Couple of coworkers has SMS issues where messages.app takes almost 20 seconds to load, calls drop left right and center, lockups for no reason (during a phone call), the camera picker has turned to utter shite – running camera picker in an app on 3.0 and returning an image is a 30 second affair… I could go on for days.

Honestly, if it wasn't for the increased speed on the 3GS I'd be back on 2.2.1 and you know me… it has to be really bad for me to consider not having the latest and greatest.
