A little glimmer of potential future good news on the iPhone App Store “ via a report on Apple ‘s earnings report call at Apple Insider. Apple ‘s COO acknowledged that there is room for improvement in the store, and specifically in helping good apps to gain greater visibility, and in helping users discover worthwhile apps more easily.
Acknowledging that there is room for improvement in the current offering, Apple chief executive Tim Cook said Tuesday that Apple is looking for new ways to categorize software in the App Store on the iPhone and iPod touch.
"As you know, today we do it by type of app and also have show popular apps and top-selling apps, et cetera," Cook said. "We realize there ‘s opportunity there for further improvement and are working on that."
Apple Insider ‘s post has lots more detail on the call, and on a lot of questioning of the current pricing levels in the store.
Here ‘s hoping that, along with improvements to the front-facing parts of the store, Apple is also thinking on how to work with developers in much better ways and address some of their top issues with the store ‘s reviews process.
I hope we ‘ll see some results of Apple ‘s improvement efforts soon.
