Do You Know About / Use Settings for Google Reader on the iPhone?

Google Reader Mobile on iPhone

My favorite RSS reader app for the iPhone has always been, and continues to be, the Google Reader Mobile web app.  I was vaguely aware of its settings options, but had not visited them in many months “ until a post at the Official Google Reader Blog reminded me of their existence.

There is not a big range of settings to work with, but the ones that are there are very useful.

Here ‘s a little detail on them, straight from the Reader Blog post:

    * Start page: Choose which folder or view you’d like to see when you first log in.
    * Link reformatting: Though smartphone browsers can generally render any webpage well, you may still want to reformat webpage (removing most styles and compressing images) if you’re on a low-bandwidth connection.
    * Links in new window: By default Reader will open links in new windows, but if you prefer you can open them in the same window, replacing Reader.
    * Items per page:New! Reader normally displays 15 items at a time, but if you have a fast connection or if wish to blast through more items at a time, you can choose to display even more.

When I visted the Settings page again today, for the first time in a long while, I remembered that I had previously used it to set my start page as I like it (all items).  What I had completely forgotten about was the ability to set the number of items shown per page.  I was very happy to see that little guy, and to adjust it upwards to 25 items (I may go hog wild and go with 50 soon).

ItemsPerPage

To access these settings, just go to the very bottom of your Google Reader page and click the Settings link.

Hope this may be helpful to any of you who have forgotten about, or not noticed, this settings area.
