Apple provided an open market for pricing. It isn’t Apple’s fault that in the supply vs. demand of the App store market, customers applied pressure on developers to lower their prices.

When a developer develops a worthwhile product – such as Sling’s app for the iPhone, or various medical apps – then they are priced well – and usually more than $20 apiece.

It is up to each developer to determine how much intrinsically each app is worth. What is interesting is that consumers will vote with their wallets when an app is worthwhile to buy. Successful apps can command a good price which customers will pay for.
