As the blog title suggests, here are 4 app picks for kids, currently available for free on the App Store.
1. ABC for me
Where was this app when I was teaching English to German-speaking kids here in Austria? ABC for me makes creating alphabet, number and other picture books and cards as easy as 1, 2, 3 ! And it ‘s easy for kids to use.
Features:
· 6 page styles
· 3 book types
· take pictures via camera or use stored images
· customizable captions
Pity you can ‘t send the image collections by email to be printed later. Perhaps in a future update.

2. Mr. Shuffle
Mr. Shuffle is a cartoon face-making app. Start with a head then add a nose, ears, eyes or even a thought bubble. The image can then be saved to photo roll. A neat trick is using an image of a friend or family member, then either attaching facial features or a thought bubble. Cool.

3. Farm Piano
Farm Piano is an animal noisemaking party that I ‘m sure will enchant the youngest among us. The cow, pig, sheep and duck will happily moo, grunt, baa and quack up and down the scale as you play the notes. There ‘s not much else to see or say here. But it will be enough for some š

4. Stickboy Piano
Finally, Stickboy Piano may be the one app where, if I were the parent, I would be grabbing the iPhone away from my kids ‘ hands because the sounds are pretty nerve-testing. It ‘s pegged as an educational game and lets you listen to popular tunes while watching the stickboy travel along the keyboard while the notes are played. Or if you prefer, you can encourage your future Mozart to compose an original tune. Now where are those earplugs?

It would be great to test these apps on their destined users “ the kids. If you have, let us know.
