Free Memory “ the utility app for the iPhone that lets you view and free up more RAM memory “ has been updated, to Version 1.5.
The big (and only Mentioned) change is that it now supports the iPhone 3GS and the larger amounts of memory available on it “ as the 3GS of course has 256MB of RAM, as opposed to 128MB on the two previous iPhone models.
Now you can not only see the larger amounts of free memory currently available on your 3GS “ but you can choose to free up over 128MB “ which may come in handy for some resource-hungry games.
If you ‘ve already got over 40MB free and ask the app to free up more, Free Memory will show you a screen offering a choice of two modes to use “ Quick Mode will free up as much as possible quickly; Game Mode will free 128MB or more and will take longer.
So far, I ‘ve found Game Mode does not take that much longer, and works a treat
It ‘s nice to see this handy and well-priced utility updated for the 3GS.
