Thank you. I'm a little gun-shy on Winterboard themes that want to do too much or that may burn too much battery life. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on this one.

I'm not sure on this (the storing something that persists after a jailbreak) – it's just a suspicion on my part, that I need to research further at some point. For now, I shied away though. Yes, definitely let us know if you find time-saving solutions for those reinstalls. That's always a no fun portion of the restore process.

I was thinking the exact same thing about those programs myself. I would hate to use something like that, later have a problem with my phone, restore, and then take it apple for a repair and get blacklisted!! Lol! I would not be happy. And I really don't have enough experience to know where that info would be kept to get rid of it. Just the nature of the program itself means it is storing something on the phone that is preserved even after a restore right? I might do some research and decide before I update my phone. I have a lot of cydia apps and that's always the most painful and time consuming part of the deal. We'll see. If I try one I'll def let u know how it goes! Thanx

I've seen videos of this app and it looks pretty cool. Will install it right now

I haven't been JBed long enough this time round to have very many faves yet. So far, mQuickDo is far and away my favorite, as app switching is probably the single biggest reason for staying jailbroken right now. SBSettings has always been a favorite, and still is. I like Backgrounder, though not sure how often I'll make use of it – will see. Qik has always sounded great, but I really don't do enough with video to find it very useful.

What is Bosspaper? Couldn't find it in Cydia just now – maybe I need to add a source?

Here's my list of top Jailbreak apps that I use:

1. SBsettings
2. Backgrounder
3. OpenSSH
4. Qik (which reminds me I need to download)….it seems the guys at Qik is consistently making updates to their Cydia version of Qik as the official appstore version is not approved yet by Apple.
5. Bosspaper (I had it before upgrading to 3.01….now I need to download it again)

But ya, I can't wait till 3.1 comes out with the Augmented Apps.

Btw, I'm hoping to be one of the few lucky ones to win an agile messenger.

You may already know this, but just in case – there are a couple of backup apps that claim they'll backup your Cydia apps (and then allow you to restore them after you re-jailbreak). AptBackup and PkgBackup. I have not tried either one yet because A) I just don't have very many Cydia apps installed yet and don't need this and B) I am a little concerned that if I use these and later return to 'stock' they will leave residual traces in the OS that I prefer not to have – that is just a suspicion of mine because of the nature of the apps, not something I have researched or verified etc.

I'm just not looking forward to redownloading everything from cydia again and setting up custom theme and all that jazz. But i guess i have no choice. I'll definitely be taking advantage of the "cueue"ing option this time around in cydia. I always forget about it. Well, i'm off work for the next 6 days, so i'm sure i'll get bored at some point, and this will be something ill do to fill 3-4 hours of that time. Thanks for the breakdown of the steps. I'm sure that will help some of the less experienced make the process less painful.
