Also, isn't one of the key benefits of using the push notifications in OS3.0 that it doesn't require a TCP/IP connection to the mailserver (which I'm assuming is what you're doing with your Yahoo account), so helping with battery life?

Because push mail is not a real account you cant see the code.

Hi Andy

It should, as long as your email service allows you to forward new messages to another address. Just make sure that it's not a forward only, but that it also keeps the original message in your inbox so you can actually access it.

Thanks for the comment, leathertek!

While forwarding your Gmail to a Yahoo account does accomplish part of my goal of getting my email pushed, the reply/sent items becomes more of a pain than I am willing to deal with. Then I have to manage email going to and from another account outside my main Gmail.

While this may work for some people, with the volume of email I process with my Gmail account, I would be unable to stay on top of it if I had to send it in and out of any other email provider.

So far, PushMail has been sending me push alerts for new messages, while allowing me to still operate in my Gmail inbox.
