Apple Secretly Films Ads for an Unreleased Product

The Sierra Sun reports that a new Apple advertisement for an unreleased product was filmed this Tuesday afternoon in a Californian diner. Apparently the filming was done this Tuesday afternoon at Jax On the Tracks in downtown Truckee, California, which Apple found with a location scout.

Bud Haley, who owns the 1940’s style diner, said “Apple found us, they’re trying to show us as a hip and cool spot for the 20-something crowd.”

9to5Mac guesses that the new product will be an iPod, maybe an iPod Touch, or even an Apple tablet. Is the unknown product the rumored iPhone Nano? An iPod Touch with a built-in microphone and camera? An iProd?

No one knows… just yet.

Finally, CrunchGear brings up a good point regarding the filming: “When’s the last time Apple recorded a commercial in actual meatspace?”. An ad filmed in a diner would certainly be a big change from the plain white digital background we’re all used to seeing in Apple’s TV commercials.
