“Alright, thumbs up, let’s do this.”

You don’t see many “typing tip” types of posts anymore, but this one might be an interesting (albeit obvious) alternative for some.

Assuming that you type with two thumbs: instead of bending your left thumb backwards to access the symbols key, try just stretching your right thumb over to press the key. You can then hold it down and drag your finger to get to the key you want, or just let go and leave the keyboard in symbol mode. It’s a pretty obvious little tip, but using my left thumb to type all of the question and exclamation marks as I get confused by and consequently shout at my smarter friends has been giving me a little grief as of late.
It’s strange, but even though I use the right thumb for pressing the enter and the symbol keys, it certainly feels a lot less fatigued than my left thumb did when I still scrunched it up to reach the bottom-left corner. Maybe it has something to do with the number of commonly used letters along the left side of the keyboard.
Anybody else have any quick typing tips while we’re on the subject? 🙂
