Check out smart-ICE, smart-ICE4family, ICE4me and ICE4family. All of them are a one time charge of either .99 or 3.99 and have the ability to put a message and contact number for who you would want them to call for the password to your phone. Should you pass out after calling 911 from these apps, the phone will sound an alert every two minutes so medics can find your phone! These apps are the most detailed ICE (In Case of Emergency) apps on iTunes and endorsed by the UK medic who founded the ICE concept. Future releases will be even better! The pink versions give a portion of the proceeds to breast cancer.

I like the idea of having a program for emergency responders to send messages in a major disaster to my firends and family that I am ok and give them a update. Any ideas?

Good question. I don't know the answer I'm afraid.

If in case of an accident I'm not able to provide that password (I am not conscious or lucid enough) what good is that ICE app to paramedics?

This is a great app. and I would recommend it to anyone. It is user friendly and that's another thing about the app. that I really like. It gives me a secure feeling to have this app. on my phone. and that is what my friends are also saying. I also like the fact that the Red Cross is endorsing the app. and now that I have the app. on my i-phone, I can see why. This app. is a winner as far I am concerned. I am sure that if you choose to download this app, you won't be sorry!!

Although the marketing is not as sophisticated, there is not another ICE application that is as detailed and as intuitive to use for the paramedics and this is a one time charge, no hidden fees.

Paramedics who have seen this application have compared it to the number one ICE application in iTunes and said that the "smart-ICE" applications beat it hands down. It also has the picture for identification, was the first complete ICE application to have the wallpaper feature in case you lock your phone, and is being copied by other developers who want to include more details. Also, smart-ICE4family is the only multiple patient ICE program with detailed medical information.

As a side note: Paramedics want all of the the critical information for treatment in the application, they do not have time to answer phone calls and try to explain what is wrong with a patient. That feature is best left for the hopital staff to use after the emergency is over.
