Domeskins are a really interesting solution that lie halfway between a skin and a case. They do add decent scratch protection to the back so that you can lay the device down on a table, but they’re also raised stickers, so they do add some texture to the iPhone. They’re also made in a variety of themes (though I do wish you could customize them like with Musicskins!), so you should be able to find one that suits your style.
