Sprint Boss Says iPhone Is In a Separate Category

But you’ve got to almost put the iPhone, to be fair, in a separate category. The Apple brand and that device has done so well. It’s like comparing someone to Michael Jordan.

That ‘s a slice of what Sprint ‘s CEO, Dan Hesse, had to say when asked by Charlie Rose about how the Palm Pre is doing ‘against the iPhone ‘. Engadget calls that a ‘tactical acknowledgement that the iPhone is a bona fide wireless superstar ‘.

I wonder if he ‘d also admit that Palm ‘s Roger McNamee “ who gave us the most ridiculously bad Pre vs. iPhone trash talk quote a few months back “ should now feel like the GM who drafted Sam Bowie ahead of Michael Jordan in the NBA Draft.

In any case, a very telling quote from the Sprint boss, and an excellent excuse to feature a picture of MJ on the weekend of his Hall of Fame induction. 🙂
