Today is Talk Like a Pirate Day, and I ‘ve worked in enough offices surrounded by folks who find this much more hilarious than I do, to know that this is a bit of a big deal “ so I thought I ‘d take a quick look at what ‘s on offer on the iPhone in this important area.
As many of you know, there are a large number of pirate apps, and talking like a pirate apps, for the iPhone.
My comprehensive (cough) 5-minute review of this category of apps helped me find one app I ‘d suggest avoiding and one I think is pretty entertaining.
Talk Like a Pirate sounded promising “ as it not only shows its pirate phrases on the iPhone screen, but also speaks them for you. Unfortunately, the phrases included in the app seem a little lame and boring, and the voice that speaks them is robotic and beyond lame and boring. I ‘d suggest giving this one a miss.
A much better “ and free “ choice is the Pirate Insult Generator app. It ‘s got a little more bite and attitude to it.
I ‘m going to try hard to find an opportunity to use that one today. 🙂
