Nope – not at all. Have used Categories before, but never on my 3GS, which this is happening on. So that's not it. I was going to say I'm fine with just killing the icon, and removing / reinstalling whatever app it is – but just noticed it offers no 'X' next to it when I hold it down and all the others show it, like the built-in apps don't.
Oh well, will see what it does on next reboot of the phone.

Remove the app from its category, then you might have to try the upgrade again (most likely not)
and put it in its category again. Also upgrade within Cydia to the latest version of "Categories".
