The Mac Mini’s estimated shipping time is now 1-3 days in the U.S. and Canadian online stores, this is compared to the usual ‘within 24hrs’ timeframe. This of course, further suggests that Apple is allowing supplies to dwindle, possibly ahead of a product refresh.
Yep, it slipped.
Additionally, TUAW is reporting on tips they have recieved, further fleshing out details of the supply shortage.
Several of our tipsters work for Apple Authorized re-sellers who are running very low on desktop supplies, even an Apple Store tip says they have 4 iMacs in stock. When I worked at the Apple Store, there were always 40+ iMacs in stock. Having 4 in a store is just unheard of — unless there’s something in the works.
Just four iMacs? Really? That seems low even for an upcoming product refresh, especially if they normally have ten times that in stock.
All of these recent rumors are definitely suggesting that something is up. Most likely product refreshes, how drastic will the refresh be? We may know soon enough.
