Years back I used to be into that whole Fast & Furious scene. I had a honda civic that I dumped about 15 grand into…and let me tell you, you are right about the production costs of carbon fiber. Just about everything I could find to replace factory parts with carbon fiber ones, I purchased! Hood, trunk, headlights, taillights, dash pieces…u name it! It is not cheap, but it's strength and lightweight characteristics are what make it so valuable. Not to mention it's beauty! I remember many, many days waxing the hood of my car on a beautiful sunny day, and admiring the intricate weaving of the carbon fiber…just loved it. Quick story, one of the funniest things i've ever heard and that i'll never forget: One day this guy was walking by my car and noticed the hood. After staring wide-mouthed for a few seconds, he exclaimed to me "Damn! That is sweet!! What is that, snake-skin??"
LMAO! Me and my buddy probably hurt the poor guys feelings we laughed so hard. I mean who has a snake-skinned hood????? That's just way too ghetto! LOL
