Love them or hate them, they have figured out a great business model for audio and video distribution. It was the first model that proved to media companies that a legal digital distribution model could work. It paved ways for others do try it.

The same is going to happen for the printed word. Apple’s clout and distribution are going to clobber Amazon. Doing so will ultimately help the Kindle because publishers, once they see it works, are going to be more likely to release their print material across stores.
