Canadian App Store is Behind: Can’t use gift cards for apps!

So here’s something I didn’t know about: you can’t use iTunes gift cards to buy apps in Canada. That seems like a real shame since Apple is totally missing out on an audience of young Canucks who don’t have credit cards — and, well, it’s also pretty lame. There apparently isn’t even a law preventing the sale of apps from gift cards, so this really does sound like another mystery apple silly decision.

To finish off this post, let’s just do a quick Canadian iPhone checklist:

Tethering (free until end of year)? Check.

iPhone MMS? Check.

iPhone promo codes? Nope.

iTunes gift cards to buy apps? Nope.

Y’know, if tethering weren’t so useful already I’d be tempted to whine an rant in this post. However, since we already have two things that folks in the US are struggling and hacking just to enjoy…well, I guess it balances out just a little bit.
