Today ‘s shaping up as a great day for sharing news on free and discounted iPhone apps. I just got done posting about the new Photoshop.com Mobile app, which is free and great to see hit the App Store, and I ‘ve been meaning to share news on a big weekend sale and two new Lite versions available for two apps I reviewed and liked recently. So here goes:
Big 1st Birthday Sale: Chilli X are celbrating their one year anniversary in the iPhone apps selling arena, and giving away ALL their apps all of this weekend. Read on for the details on this and those two new Lite versions
Here ‘s the very brief lowdown on Chilli X ‘s sale details:
This weekend (that ‘s October 10th & 11th 2009) we ‘re giving all our apps away for free. That ‘s right “ all 16 apps will be free “ that ‘s enough to fill a whole screen on your iPhone. We know it ‘s crazy but we wanted to say thank you to everybody that ‘s supported us over the last year and simultaneously boost awareness of our apps.
And a little background on what some of those 16 apps are:
PhotoFrame: turn your iPhone or iPod touch into a beautiful digital photo frame.
"Outstanding. For me, this may be the best iPhone app I have bought."Done: the To Do list for the rest of us.
"Please please please NEVER stop supporting/upgrading this app. It is simply THE BEST app of it’s kind that i have EVER used ”I would be so lost without it. It’s Simple, Sassy and Sexy. Two thumbs up guys. REALLY great work here :)"Playlist Alarm Clock: at last you can go to sleep and wake up listening to your own choice of music.
"Finally, I can stop searching for apps that tell the time. Chilli x is known for integrating different apps into one and this has just blown all the competition away."PlaySafe: if you use your iPhone or iPod touch to listen to music in the car, PlaySafe might just save your life!
"The idea behind PlaySafe is an inherently great one – one that’s hard to believe Apple hasn’t incorporated into the iPod touch and iPhone already." iLoungeMyCal: create beautiful calendar wallpapers for your iPhone or iPod touch.
"It is amazing how Chilli X seems to find the missing features native to the iPhone and delivers an intuitive, elegant, useful solution."

Two New Lite Versions of Recently Reviewed Apps (that we liked):
World Cup Trivia Challenge Lite “ a taster for the full app that I reviewed HERE, which is a great trivia game for fans of football (of the soccer variety) and the world ‘s biggest sporting event, The World Cup. I like the full app tons. The Lite version has a much smaller pool of questions but should give you a good enough feel for the unique and fun gameplay. Check it out in the App Store, HERE.
PhotoScatter Lite: PhotoScatter bills itself as the ‘simplest way to send photos from your iPhone or iPod Touch to many of the leading photo sharing sites ‘. I reviewed the full version of the app HERE, and liked it a lot. The new Lite version is ad-supported and slightly less optimized than the Pro version “ and you can get it in the App Store, HERE.
Of course you can always hit up apps like Bargain Bin, AppMiner, Store-Extend and others like them to get help finding discounted and gone-free iPhone apps “ but I thought I ‘d share a few that I was made aware of over the last couple of days.
Happy Friday and happy app-hunting. 🙂
