Command & Conquer Red Alert for iPhone

Coming, October 23rd, the Cold War is hot again with COMMAND & CONQUER RED ALERT for iPhone and iPod touch. Click here to see it in motion and scroll down below for the latest screenshots!

You’ll experience real-time COMMAND & CONQUER strategy as the Soviet or Ally factions. Control the battlefield with touch-screen power in up to 12 combat levels. Create and command war squads in realistic environments. Manage supplies with an intuitive combat system, and escalate the game with hi-tech weapons you develop.

This is good news for fans of the popular and long-running Command & Conquer franchise. Next Friday we should be seeing the release of Command & Conquer: Red Alert for the iPhone.

I spent my share of hours playing various versions of the C&C series, but it ‘s been a long while since I ‘ve messed with them, so I found iPhone Central ‘s rundown on how this new game looks a very good read.  Here ‘s just a little slice of it:

Recently released screenshots reveal a great deal about what to expect for Red Alert ‘s first foray onto a mobile platform. The iPhone version seems to take units from Red Alert 3 (including Soviet fighter jets, helicopters, etc), yet the art style, graphics, and two-faction offerings are more reminiscent of Red Alert 2. Per EA ‘s announcement, it looks like the Paladin Tank from Command and Conquer Generals is making its first appearance in the Red Alert universe and there should be other new units to use as well. The screenshots also reveal the return of the blonde Tanya unit from Red Alert 3 and the iconic Kirov Air Ship first featured in Red Alert 2.

There ‘s no word on pricing for this one yet.  I ‘m keen to see how this one looks, though as iPhone Central points out, it seems a little daunting to be able to manage masses of troops and weapons within the confined space we have on the iPhone screen.

What do you all think?  Raring to get your hands on this one?
